Feedback from participants

After my SIY training session trainees have the opportunity to give anonymous feedback about their training experience with Search Inside Yourself - below you find a few typical quotes:

The fact that it combines theory with practice every step of the way was awesome, as it gave me the chance to actually test and validate if the item discussed is something that would be of value to me or not. In general, I think that it was a great program that I have already started implementing in my day-to-day life.

One of the most powerful training here in the company. Strongly recommend to be done twice per year as for all colleagues to train themselves into these practices. The most useful are the insight and the real practices I can perform in any case. I understood the view of the mindfulness and why we need to improve ourselves.

The content taught, the interraction and active participation expected from the participants, as well as the approach and delivery from both instructors was
wonderful. They offered both conceptual & theoretical learnings, in order for us to immerse in the scientific background of the taught concepts, but fully adjusted practices fitting for both our work reality, and any level of available time to invest - in order for them to be applicable to everyone.

I am highly appreciative of the instructors and their knowledge! their manner of delivering the content was amazing! I felt highly inspired!

This training should be mandatory to everyone in the company.

This was an amazing training. The 2 days were intense, but very rich and worth it. Every single practice was worth it and I really like the challenge/ follow-ups after the training.

MENTAL HEALTH

In 2024, the estimated  costs of mental health related diseases in Germany totalled about 55 billion Euro. Mental health related sick days have grown by 50% in the last 10 years. The average sick leave for mental diseases takes about 28 days. Women are more often impacted than men. The occupations with the highest sick leave times for mental health related issues are day care for the elderly and child care.

What are the risk factors in relation to mental health issues?

Lack of experts in business, pressure, our VUCA world (volatile, uncertain, chaotic an ambiguos), being overwhelmed, conflicts and crises in general. About 50% of all employees are effected.

What can we do?

Leadership - psychological safety in teams, belonging, communication and respectful appreciation of each other can help.

Structure - Flexible working hours and home office can be helpful. In some cases, this can also become a stressor if the boundaries between work- and private time become too fluffy and this also doesn't work for all occupations. Employee Assistance Programs can support employees in difficult life situations.

Culture - Openess, failure tolerance, trust and respect can make a huge difference, if these behaviors are demostrated by leadership and codified in the organisation. Without active top-down support those attempts lack authenticity and won't work.

What are the benefits?

The level of content within the organization grows, employee attrition drops, productivity goes up, self-motivation of employees raises and leave of absences drop. Companies such as SAP, Google, Procter & Gamble, Deutsche Telekomt and Bayer have recognized the ROI of prevention programs for mental health and actively support internal program for mindfulness and well-being.

Only 30% of all companies invest in prevention trainings supporting mental health. How do you support your employees?
